Nigerian Album covers.
For my research I looked into some African album covers. I will mainly be focusing on the Nigerian albums covers. Nigeria music has a huge impact on pop culture around the world. There is some interesting about their album covers. They are sometimes minimalist with bold colors or screaming right at you. The website that I looked into for this research was Album Cover Bank traces over 70 years of Nigeria’s album design and visual culture by Yaya Azariah Clarke. The website talks about the history of Nigerian's graphic design over 70 years. It's interesting how they play around with color in the images. The busyness of the images. For example, Lemi Ghariokwu: Zombie (Copyright © Lemi Gariokwu, 1976) The first thing I saw was man in pink then the colorful font, lastly the background.
